Submissions

YourED publishes news, feature articles, opinion, memoir, and other stories related to emergency medicine and public health in Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, and the world. YourED encourages submissions from a diverse range of authors from all locations.

It is strongly recommended that those wishing to submit content for consideration for publication in YourED first familiarise themselves with current content.

Content for consideration can be submitted at any time. If deemed suitable, content will be published after all editorial and approval processes are completed. Submissions must be previously unpublished and no longer than 3000 words. References should be from reputable sources and utilise in-text citation in the form of hyperlinks.

The publication of work will be at the discretion of the YourED team. Submitting an article does not mean it will be accepted for publication. YourED will not publish content that the editorial team deems inflammatory, inappropriate or which stands in direct opposition to the explicit positions of the College.

Authors retain copyright of any works published in YourED. All content will be edited for readability. ACEM reserves the right to change material submitted. No payment will be offered for content published in YourED.

YourED is not an academic journal. Academic literature including research, articles, reports, reviews and opinions relating to clinical practice and research in emergency medicine should be directed to Emergency Medicine Australasia (EMA), the official journal of ACEM and of the Australasian Society for Emergency Medicine (ASEM).

If you are unsure where your submission fits, please email youred@acem.org.au.
